Three Simple Ways to Uplift Your Attitude

One of my favorite quotes is: “Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% is how I react to it”- Charles Swindoll

I hope that you have been inspired in these video blogs about The Power of Attitude. I truly believe it is so important but it takes work! It is not something that will completely change after just watching a couple videos. It truly has to become a lifestyle and it truly has to be something that you work on regularly- but I promise you it will be worth it! It took years for this to become the norm in my life but I would not change it for anything.

I sometimes look at my life and think “I should be sad, depressed and unhappy, but I’m not.” I can really only chalk that up to the fact that I have become so thankful for all of the wonderful things in my life that I can no longer see what the negatives are. I have found a new normal in seeing that yes, I live differently and there are a lot of things that I cannot do on my own but I’m so thankful to be alive and so thankful to be able to make a positive difference in this world through my journey and what I have gone through.

In life, there are always going to be things (circumstances, obstacles, and people) that want to take us down and get us back to negative thinking. But we can definitely notice the triggers and combat them by thinking on things that are positive and good. I recently read that “Research shows that 75 to 98% of mental, physical, and behavioral illness comes from one’s thought life” (Switch On Your Brain, Leaf) (Stress.org), (massgeneral.org) I realize that this might be a little controversial, but it is so important to consider as it shows that we can have a part to play in what is happening in our lives. The great news about this is the fact that we can change our thoughts! We don’t have to continue living with toxic thoughts as our brains can change. Our society can really fall into the trap of being the victim instead of the victor, and I hope that you will join me on the journey of determining to overcome. To giving it everything that we can to live a life of victory. Every goal and dream takes hard work but it is worth it in the end!
