Am I Proud of My Disability?

Since July is Disability Pride Month, I took some time to reflect on whether or not I have pride in my disability.

It took me years to come to a point where I was no longer obsessing over wishing I had my old life. I never thought I would find pride in my disability - but today, I am!

I am proud to be different and unique and have the ability to impact so many people with my story. I am proud that I have been able to use what I’ve been through to help others. I would not change anything that I’ve been through!

So, please don’t feel sorry for me. I have a wonderful life and I am proud that I am unique and different with my disability!
