I am excited to speak for the McFarland Community on Wednesday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m.! This is an open community event, so if you live nearby, you are welcome to attend. The event will be hosted at Waubesa Intermediate School (5605 Red Oak Trail, McFarland, WI).

The school district shared:

"McFarland High School's We Are Many-United Against Hate student group and the High School Equity SPEAR Team collaborated this year to empower student voice. There was a desire to educate students, staff, and community members on issues facing members of our community, in particular that of mental health and resiliency. Through funds from the Village of McFarland, McFarland School District and Green Bay Packer Foundation, we are honored and privileged to bring Tasha Schuh to our McFarland community!"

I’m already thinking about how to apply your talk to our small nonprofit’s monthly volunteer meetings. Getting everyone to share their story in a low-pressure way is something we struggle with, so your approach might give us a new starting point.

You mention being excited to speak, but I’m wondering how you balance that energy for attendees who feel nervous about engaging in group activities. Do you have a way to draw out quieter people without putting them on the spot? That seems like the hardest part of a community event.
